If you encounter a large fire (larger than 4'x4'x3'), please contact OLYMPIC AIR POLLUTION CONTROL AUTHORITY at 360-586-1044 and report the situation.  They will either respond immediately or issue a citation against the alleged offending party.

In the continuing intent of making members and properties safer, we have applied to become a Firewise.org approved community with the Department of Natural Resources. This is an ongoing program and requires the involvement of all members to do their part in reducing local fire risk by eliminating fire fuel on their property (e.g. brush, fallen limbs, etc.) and around their homes.  Watch for periodic updates.  Some of the more useful suggestions are:  Clean and screen the chimney and stove pipe.  Remove overhanging tree limbs, moss and needles from the roof and gutters.  Maintain a survivable space around the house.  A large green lawn is ideal. Remove highly-flammable plants from around the house, especially on the side most exposed to prevailing winds and on the downhill slope.  Keep storage areas clean and tidy.  Never allow rags or newspapers to accumulate.  Store flammable liquids in approved containers.  Stack firewood away from the house.
